|The Board of Education of Mancos Re6 School District in the County of Montezuma, State of Colorado, calls for nomination of candidates for school directors to be placed on the ballot for the regular biennial school election to be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017.|
The Mancos School District greatly benefits from the help of our Parent and Community Volunteers!
By volunteering, you can help give time back to the staff so that they can do what they have been hired to do - educate our students! In addition to several regularly scheduled positions, many of our special programs and projects wouldn’t happen without the help of volunteers, so thank you for considering spending some of your valuable time helping to improve our schools and our Community!
We have a variety of positions available, which offer a wide variety of time commitments.
First, we would like to assist all staff by relieving them of some of their extra “duties” throughout the regular school day or providing support to teachers in the classroom.
AVAILABLE DUTIES: Bus Duty, Classroom Volunteer, Crosswalk Duty, Library Events, Lunch Room Helper, Pre-School Volunteer, Tutor, Watch Dog Program
Second, there is a wealth of knowledge in our community and we would like to bring that knowledge into the classrooms in the form of Guest Speakers, so please let us know if you’re interested in speaking.
AVAILABLE DUTIES: Speaking to High School Students about career options.
Third, we have a variety of projects and programs where we can use help.
AVAILABLE DUTIES: Creating costumes and/or sets for the Holiday Music Program & Judging Middle School Science Fair Projects.
Lastly, the district would also like to help accommodate those parents/guardians who have a work schedule that does not fit with the school calendar. We offer a safe, fun place for students to be during regular school hours (8:00 to 3:40) on Staff Professional Days to those who need it. We would love to have you join us to assist staff on the following Staff Professional Days (All are Fridays) - November 11, December 9, January 20, February 3, February 17, March 10, April 14, May 5.
If you would like to help out in any of these areas or have any questions or suggestions on how you can help, please feel free to contact me!
